What your admin does
- 1Register AutoMark as an LTI 1.3 tool under Developer Keys, and turn the key on.
- 2Add the AutoMark app to your account or sub-account by Client ID.
- 3Create a Canvas API key so AutoMark can import work and return approved grades.
- 4Send us your Canvas URL. We activate your instance before teachers launch AutoMark.
Canvas Consortium: each member school’s Canvas instance is registered in AutoMark and gets its own API key.

How long does setup take?
About 15 minutes of Canvas admin setup, following our step-by-step guide. We then activate your Canvas instance on our side, and teachers can launch AutoMark from their courses.
Who needs to install it?
A Canvas admin with Site Admin or Sub-Account Admin access installs AutoMark once. Teachers don’t install anything; they open AutoMark from their Canvas course.
Does the AI publish grades on its own?
No. AutoMark drafts scores and feedback, and nothing reaches a student until the teacher reviews, approves, and sends it. Canvas’s posting policy still controls when students see grades.
Is student data used to train AI?
No. Student work is never used to train AI. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, handling is FERPA-aligned, and a DPA is available on request.
What does a pilot cost, and what happens after?
A 6-week pilot with one department or a small group of teachers costs $1,500, and the full amount is credited toward year one if you continue. At the end, we review the results with your team and decide on next steps together.
Does it work with Canvas rubrics?
Yes. Teachers can import an existing Canvas rubric, start from a template, paste one in, or upload a rubric file. AutoMark scores against the rubric’s own criteria language.
